About The Artist, John Kenyon 1927-2020
Born in the North of England and a graduate of Manchester University School of Architecture, John Kenyon was a painter and graphic artist with a special fondness for urban landscapes. Typically his pictures celebrate the hidden beauty and poetry of ordinary scenes, such as views over back gardens, old boats on the Oakland Estuary, or the industrial Bay-edge of Richmond.
A member of the Royal Institute of British Architects for many years, John wrote architectural commentary for local journals. He was also the founder of Kenyon Cityscapes, a line of prints and 5" by 7" cards carrying reproductions of his paintings and drawings.
